Let's Learn: Pokémon Unite

  • Time: Saturday, 11 am - 1 pm ET

  • Pre-reqs: (see Online Event page)

Team up and take down the opposition in Pokémon’s first 5-on-5 strategic team battle game!

Join Trainers from around the world as they head for Aeos Island to compete in Unite Battles! In Unite Battles, Trainers face off in 5-on-5 team battles to see who can score the most points within the allotted time. Teamwork is key as you and your teammates defeat wild Pokémon, level up and evolve your partner Pokémon, and knock out the opposing team’s Pokémon to prevent them from scoring points. Put your teamwork to the test, and take home the win!

Let's Learn: Dead By Daylight, by Jay aka Byekun (Fellow Gaymer from NYC)

  • Time: Saturday, 1 pm - 3 pm ET

  • Pre-reqs: (see Online Event page)

I will be going over the basics of the general game mechanics from the survivor side. Topics include perk knowledge, survivor and killer movement speed, the different killers and their powers. Key HUD/status icons to pay attention to. Taking this course will improve your game awareness in trials and helping beginner players ease more into the game.

About Byekun: Baker, Anime lover to K Pop enthusiast and K Drama fanatic. I'm Dead By Daylight addict with a few other additions like Pokemon and Overwatch. Catch me streaming DBD if you're into that survivor triller horror.

Let's Learn: FFXIV, by Chord Terias (They/Them) from Queer Gaming Commune (Kugeko?!)

  • Time: Saturday, 3 pm - 5 pm ET

  • Pre-reqs: (see Online Event page)

Let's Learn Final Fantasy XIV!

Come learn from the basics of character creation and helpful settings, to a bit of gameplay knowledge: I aim to give you a strong foundation for what you need to get started on the critically-acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV. The free trial has gone viral, so there's no better time to get started and learn something new!

About Chord Terias: I'm a Training Developer with a passion for gamification looking to build a LGBT-friendly community by applying fun learning principles to the games I adore.

Let's Learn: Among Us, by Rougela / Andrei from Kugeko?! and NYC Gaymers

  • Time: Saturday, 5 pm - 7 pm ET

  • Pre-reqs: (see Online Event page)

I’m here to chat about the basics of Among Us and my experiences hosting weekly lobbies.

The game takes place in a space-themed setting, in which players each take on one of two roles, most being Crewmates, and a predetermined number being Impostors. The goal of the Crewmates are to identify the Impostors, eliminate them, and complete tasks around the map; the Impostor's goal is to covertly sabotage and kill the Crewmates before they complete all of their tasks.

About Rougela / Andrei: Andrei hosts bi-weekly Among Us nights between both groups that they moderate/admin for, bringing everyone together over some good murder mystery fun! They're also a frequent cornerstone for NYC Gaymers' online events.

Let's Learn: Werewolf, by Steve Gianaca of Geeks OUT

Join Flame Con & Geek OUT's own Steve Gianaca for a fun introduction to this classic secret roles & social deduction game!

The Werewolves of Miller's Hollow is a game that takes place in a small village which is haunted by werewolves. The game alternates between night and day phases. At night, the Werewolves secretly choose a Villager to kill. During the day, the Villager who was killed is revealed and is out of the game.

About Steve: Steve currently serves as the Creative Lead of Geeks OUT. He also served as the Flame Con Committee Chair from 2017-2019, and now serves in an advisory role for the convention. Outside of Geeks OUT, Steve has worked as a designer for major TV networks and Creative Director for several national publications.
